The County of Sonoma seeks an energetic, passionate leader who is up to the challenge of making a significant impact on the services and programs offered by our Human Resources Department.
This newly created position will assist the Director and manage day-to-day operations, and continually evaluate and seek solutions and programs to maintain and improve the comprehensive range of human resource programs and services provided to our customers. Responsibilities will include managing Recruitment and Classification, Risk Management, and Training Divisions. In addition, the incumbent will serve as primary staff to the Civil Service Commission.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned public personnel professional with strong technical human resource skills including general and fiscal management experience and experience in general human resources program areas. Normally, graduation from an accredited college or university with a related degree and four years of experience managing a significant, centralized human resources function for a mid-sized public agency operating a personnel merit system in a union environment. Possession of a Master’s degree in a related field is highly desirable.
